Growlands Premium Carnivorous Plant Soil / Carnivorous Plant Compost is produced in the UK using Irish peat sourced from areas of no scientific interest and washed-graded perlite. Our carnivorous plant compost mixture offers a Light and airy medium with excellent water absorption perfect for carnivorous plants. Our Carnivorous Plant Compost can be used as Venus Flytrap Soil, Pitcher Plant Soil, and Sundew Soil.
During production, we make sure to maintain the levels of cyanobacteria found in the peat which in turn helps give carnivorous plants that extra level of nutrients found in their native growing environments. As avid carnivorous plant growers, we understand that salt build-up can be toxic to some forms of carnivorous plants in larger than normal quantities. As such we take extra measures to lower the salt ratio found in our Carnivorous Plant Soil blends. Growlands perlite is kept wet with rainwater during the manufacturing stage in order to keep salt levels to a minimum. We then take this step further by washing the perlite in a distilled water vat. This process removes any excess grime and salt residues.
Growlands carnivorous plant soil mixture is predominantly used as high-grade Venus flytrap soil, Sundew Soil, and pitcher plant soil by carnivorous plant nurseries. In order to use Growlands carnivorous plant compost Simply fill up your plant pot, hydrate the soil for 30 minutes and plant or sow your carnivorous plants directly into Growlands carnivorous plant potting mix. We recommend keeping it in shade for 3 weeks to allow new root growth.
For best results, we recommend repotting your carnivorous plants every year – ideally before spring growth. This will maintain soil quality, encourage root growth and overall enhance your plants’ health

We advise all buyers to use our plant food sprays during the plant’s natural growing cycles with heavier doses in the summer months, lighter doses in Autumn, and no doses in the rest periods during winter.
